The Democratic Party will have a primary for Governor (Dan Malloy, Ned Lamont), Lt. Governor (Nancy Wyman, Mary Glassman), Secretary of The State (Denise Merrill, Jerry Garcia), and Comptroller (Kevin Lembo, Michael Jarjura).

Republicans will have a Primary for Governor (Tom Foley, Michael Fedele, Oz Griebel), Lt Gov. (Mark Boughton, Lisa Wilson-Foley, Attorney General (Martha Dean, Ross Garber),  Senator (Linda McMahon, Peter Schiff, Rob Simmons), Congress (Dan Dibicella, Rob Merkle, Rick Torres) and Probate Judge (Michael Murray, William Osterndorf, John Ryan).

Voters can register or enroll by mail up until Thursday August 5th (Postmarked), or in person with either the Town Clerk or Registrars of Voters until noon Monday August 9. Party enrollment requires only that the potential voter indicate a party on their application.  The deadline for moving from one major party to another and to be eligible for the new party's primary has passed.

Voters can complete and submit an absentee ballot application to the Town Clerk in person or by mail. The Town Clerk should be contacted for any specific questions or problems.  The Town Clerk can be reached at 203-594-3070.

Voter Registration forms and Absentee ballot applications are available from the Town Clerk.  Both are available over the internet either from the town website, http//www.newcanaan.info or from the Secretary of The State at:  http://www.sots.state.ct.us/ .
