Thank you to Paul Sedlak and the rest of the Channel 79 team! I would love to see the Patch feature a regular column about unsung heroes in New Canaan. Part of the draw of our town is the close knit community. We should encourage nominations of local heroes for public recognition.

That's a great idea, Cobie. Do you want to nominate someone? You can post names here or you can submit them to me at sheryl.shaker@patch.com

Absolutely Paul and his team deserve all the credit for what they do. My father, John Pollack, was part of the group that started Channel 79 and Paul, Tony Thompson, Rad Stone and others continue his legacy though their hard work and dedication. I salute them!

I imagine Michael Savage and Kate Regan won't be nominated any time soon. Those two stories sure disappeared quick.

Sheryl, I was going to suggest Tucker Murphy and Jeff Holland as a start. There are so many wonderful people to highlight. But that is a running start!

You and editor Paul Devlin are thinking alike! He interviewed Tucker last week.

I nominate Ed Karl, under whose leadership, our Fire Department quietly -- except for sirens -- meets danger frequently and helps keep us safe with a minimum of controversy and expense.

S Tadik, thanks for the suggestion Ed would be a great choice. Love the ideas. Keep them coming.

Thank you for this segment. We rarely get recognized for all the hard work and time we put into running the station. It is nice to see Paul Sedlak and our team get the recognition they deserve.
