Cranies of New Canaan's Book Nook Cramped

See the problems with the library's current building for yourself.

As the library makes its pitch for an all new facility which could become part of an ambitious Town Center development, Director Alice Knapp has been conducting back-stage tours this week to show patrons why the space—originally built in 1913 and last expanded in 1979—is no longer sufficient.

In addition to seeing the shortfalls of the current facility, Knapp wants the walk-throughs to be an opportunity for the community to pipe up about what they want to see in the library of the future.

If you have suggestions, you are invited to contact the library director at aknapp@newcanaanlibrary.org.

The tours will be offered at least for the next several weeks; if there is enough interest, they may continue into through the summer. Call or check the library website for details on upcoming tours.
