The Rams erupted for four goals in the second period and extended their lead to 7-0 after the second period. Wilton's Matt Kobyra scored in the third period to spoil the shutout bid.
Wilton finished the regular season at 10-10, winning 10 of its final 13 games following an 0-7 start.
New Canaan tied Wilton for fourth place in the FCIAC standings with 16 points, two ahead of Trinity Catholic and Fairfield.
The top six teams make the FCIAC's tier one playoffs. Fairfield concludes its regular season at Darien on Wednesday while Trinity Catholic hosts Westhill.
Both the Mustangs and Crusaders have a tiebreaker edge against New Canaan based on regular-season wins over the Rams. If either Fairfield or Trinity Catholic lose Wednesday, New Canaan will secure a playoff spot.
If both win, they will end the season in a four-way tie with New Canaan and Wilton. In that scenario, New Canaan would drop into the tier two playoffs.
