New Canaan's Kevin Macari Headed to Georgetown

Macari will leave New Canaan as one of the Rams' all-time top wide receivers

New Canaan wide receiver Kevin Macari will be continuing his football career at Georgetown University after signing a National Letter of Intent with the Hoyas.

Boasting size and speed, the 6-foot-3, 225-pound Macari helped lead New Canaan to the championship game of the CIAC Class L playoffs, where the Rams were beaten by Masuk 50-20 to end their four-year state title run.

In Macari's two years as a starter, New Canaan posted a 22-3 record. He was the top receiver in Connecticut this past season, earning all-state honors.

Macari ranks in the top three in all the Rams' major receiving categories, including No. 1 in career touchdown receptions (30) and touchdowns in a single season (20).

In addition, Macari is second on New Canaan's all-time list in career receiving yards (2,068) and single-season receiving yards  (1,259).

Georgetown competes in the Patriot League in football and is coming off a 4-7 season in 2010.

Not a single D-1 offer. 6' 3", 225 and he can run. I don't get it.

Can't fathom why either. Best of luck to Macari at the next level.
