Middlebury College tight end David Reed, a New Canaan native, has been named a District I Academic All-American by CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors Association).
The Panthers recently completed a 4-4 season, with three wins in their last four games.
Reed earns a spot on the academic team for the second straight season, boasting a 3.65 GPA while majoring in economics.
The former All-NESCAC selection caught 39 passes this season for 332 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
Two years ago, he was second on the team with 40 catches for 450 yards, earning a touchdown. He finishes his career with 79 receptions for 782 yards with three touchdowns.
