Republican Candidates Debate [Video]

The Republican Town Committee sponsored a debate between two candidates for First Selectman and two men who want to be Selectman.

Town residents heard from four men who want to represent their party in the November elections, in a pre-caucus debate sponsored by the Republican Town Committee Thursday night.

In the first of two debates between the declared candidates for , Paul Giusti and Robert E. Mallozzi III answered questions from moderator Gail Lavielle, state representative from Wilton-Norwalk, and had a chance to question each other, as well. 

The two candidates for the Republican Selectman seat, John Engel and Nick Williams, faced one another after the First Selectman debate.

Giusti and Mallozzi will meet for a second debate next Thursday, June 23.That debate will be followed by candidate presentations from Republicans running for Selectman, , Board of Education, and .

Former CT state senator William H. Nickerson will be the moderator for the First Selectman debate.

The Republican caucus will be held at on July 19 at 7 p.m. Early voting will be available at Town Hall on  June 25  from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. and July 12 from 5 - 9 p.m.
