Original Story
The results are coming in from tonight's Republican Town Committee Caucus and it has been announced that Rob Mallozzi III has been chosen as the party's candidate for First Selectman, Nick Williams has been chosen as the candidate for Selectman and Claudia Weber has been chosen as the candidate for Town Clerk.
Candidates and voters began gathering Saxe Middle School earlier this evening for the caucus, which was moderated by former New Canaan chair Dennis Taylor.
More than 1,300 Republican voters took advantage of two days of early voting in late June and early July.
More than 50 percent of New Canaan's registered voters are Republicans, so it's likely that the candidates who win at tonight's Republican Town Committee caucus, will also be the winners in the general election on Nov. 8.
Patch will have additional updates as ballots are cast and counted.

I couldn't be happier that Bob Mallozi won. I hope we can now start preserving what's special about New Canaan and stop more chains like Sleepy's from destroying the unique beauty of our town. Congratulations, Bob!

congrats to the winners, it's too bad that Radman and Abramowitz didn't make it, I felt they would have brought much needed fiscal discipline to the town... Dan and Roy, please keep up your efforts.

Given the interest in the First Selectman race, I am surprised that only about 35% of registered Republicans turned out to vote their choice in the party caucus.

The previous record was 1300, and the final was more than 2200. So obviously tons of people came to show their support.

Congradulations to Rob Mallozzi and his family. I knew you could do it Rob. One down, one to go in November. Also a congradulations to the people of New Canaan who took a stand for the right person to represent the Republicans and hopefully represent our town in November.
