2010 Turkey Bowl

New Canaan (8-1) vs. Darien (10-0) at 10:30 a.m. at Darien

There is a lot at stake in this annual matchup. The Rams need to win to qualify for the state tournament while Darien would like to end a nine year drought in beating New Canaan in the Turkey Bowl. The Blue Wave have not beaten the Rams in the annual Thanksgiving game since 2001 when they won 24-21.

The Rams only loss was back in October when they were defeated by St. Joes 28-27. They failed to convert on a two-point conversion at the end of the fourth quarter which would have won them the game. They are led by senior tri captains Joe Costigan, Connor Hanratty and Kevin Macari. Quarterback Matt Milano has played exceptionally well throwing 30 touchdown passes in his first year under center. Connor Goodwin has been a force for NC's ground game scoring four touchdowns this season. 

The Blue Wave come into the game as the FCIAC Champions for the first time since 1998. They defeated Trumbull in the FCIAC Championship game 17-7 that showcased their stellar defense. They have allowed just 87 points in 10 games while scoring 269 points. On defense they are led by co-captian Charlie Kunze who leads the team with 73 tackles. Defensive end Tucker Morehouse leads the team with 13 sacks. On offense they are led by quarterback Chris Allam who has thrown 15 touchdown passes this year.
