Goings-on In & Around New Canaan Tuesday

Hey New Canaan, a mostly sunny 66 degrees Tuesday with a 20-percent chance of showers during the day gives way to late showers in the evening with a temperature of 40 degrees, according to Weather.com

The Board of Selectmen meets Tuesday morning at 9 a.m. at the Training Room of the police department. In the evening, a Planning & Zoning Commission special meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. at the nature center, followed by a regular meeting at 7 p.m. 

At the New Canaan library, Tuesday's activities include Time for 2's at 9:30 a.m., Time for 2's at 11 a.m., 3-5 yrs. Drop-in Storytime at 1:30 p.m., K-2nd Grades ~ Kid Creators at 4:15 p.m., Young Critics book group for grades 4-6 at 6:30 p.m., free college planning classes at 6:30 p.m.  and Farewell Visits Morocco at 7 p.m. 

Dr. Janette Alvarez stops by the Village Critter Outfitter to discuss pet obesity as part of Pet Wellness Month. Topics include ways to prevent obesity and help your pet shed some pounds if they're overweight. The whole thing kicks off at 6 p.m.
