Pet Cancer, Exploding Books, Board of Selectmen, Community Chorale

Hey New Canaan, your weather outlook for today starts out with a.m. clouds and p.m. sun with a high of 83 degrees. The evening temps drop to 69 but the skies are predicted to stay clear, according to Weather.com.

Gather at the Village Critter Outfitter Tuesday at 6 p.m. for a presentation by Dr. Gerald Post on the warning signs of cancer in pets

Registration for Fall Storytimes for 3 to 8-year-olds starts Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. Preference will be given to New Canaan residents with valid library cards. The Exploding Book Group meets at the Lapham Community Center at 2 p.m., discussing My Beloved World by Sonia Sotomayor. 

The Board of Selectmen gather for their regular meeting at the New Canaan Police Department Training Room Tuesday morning at 9 a.m. The Pension Committee meets at 11 a.m. at the New Canaan Police Department as well. The Traffic Calming Meeting scheduled for Tuesday has been bumped to Wednesday, September 11 at 1:30 p.m. at the police department. 

Chorale enthusiasts are being sought for neighboring Norwalk's Community Chorale. Meeting at the Norwalk City Hall's Mary McCarthy Room on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m., the four-part chorus is looking for enthusiasts to join its 70-member group.
