Alexandra Cohen, a senior at New Canaan High School, recently was presented the 2012 DAR Good Citizen Award by Mrs. M. K. Wells, Regent of the Hannah Benedict Carter Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution in New Canaan. This prestigious award is given annually to a high
school senior selected by the school as exemplifying the qualities of dependability, service, leadership and patriotism.
Alexandra is active in school and community. She serves as co-captain of the Debate Club, is a member of the high school Model U.N. Club, is a member of the NCHS Buddies,
which partners special-needs students with their peers, and is a member of Girl Scouts.
The DAR Good Citizens program is intended to encourage and reward the qualities of good citizenship. The program is open to all senior class students enrolled in accredited public or private secondary schools that are in good standing with their state boards of education.
