Saxe Students Present WIlly Wonka Junior

Many of us are familiar with the classic tale of Willy Wonka,
but this year’s musical production by Saxe’s Fifth and Sixth graders, their interpretation of the beloved classic is not to be missed!  Audience members will be talking well after
the sets have been taken down about the wonderment of the candy-inspired costumes, melodic songs and dreams of chocolate.  Be prepared to be entertained by old

favorites like “Pure Imagination” and “The Candy Man” while enjoying the fabulous acting, singing, and dancing in the aisles!  Under the expert direction of Ted Thomas,
returning as director and choreographer, along with Joe Gergle, musical director, Matt Blank, stage manager, and Lauren Sherwood, costume designer, audiences
will watch in amazement as hopes of winning the golden ticket and chocolate rivers come to life through these talented children.

Performance dates are Friday, November 11 at 7:00 pm and Saturday, November 12 at 2:00 pm in Saxe’s Auditorium.  Assigned seating tickets are $10 each and will be on sale in the Saxe main upper lobby on Monday, November 7th-10th from 3:00 to 6:00 pm and one hour prior to each performance.

Over one hundred and twenty students have dedicated three afternoons per week to practice their singing and dancing routines.  Working under the creative direction of Maggie Pennoyer, students in the 5th and 6th grade volunteered as stage crew members and have been helping transform the traditional auditorium into the magical world of Willy Wonka.

Come and support Saxe 5th and 6th graders while experiencing the excitement and wonderment of a candy-filled dream world this November.
