Team Maldives did a fantastic job representing the Maldives and St. Luke's School the week of May 14, 2012 at the Global Classrooms International Model United Nations Conference in NYC. They spoke before their peers, engaged in intense negotiations, and wrote many resolutions to solve the various global problems presented to them. Over 2300 students participated from 23 different countries. St. Luke’s Sophomores Melanie Bow (Darien) and Sebastian Bates (Pound Ridge) won honorable mention for their work in the Human Rights Committee while Mac Zech (New Canaan) and Wyett Dalton (Pound Ridge) also won honorable mention for their work on the IAEA. All members of our team worked hard and had fun. We knew they were serious when they wanted to skip meals to work on their draft resolutions.
