It's not every day you learn how to draw a lucky tiger. Recently, St. Luke's fifth and sixth grade students were artfully guided stroke by stroke by Grace Lin, renowned author and illustrator of the Newbery Honor novel Where the Mountain Meets the Moon. Students listened to Ms. Lin's reading of her recently published book, Starry River of the Sky and acted out a scene from the colorful folktale describing why we only have one sun.
Hosted by St. Luke's Librarian Elizabeth Nelson and brought to SLS by New Canaan's Elm Street Books, Ms. Lin answered questions about her craft and her life as an artist. It was an honor and a pleasure to have Ms. Lin share her love for art and writing with St. Luke's youngest writers. To discover more about Ms. Lin and her work, please visit http://www.gracelin.com
