"They really go above and beyond." This was school librarian Elizabeth Nelson's reaction as she picked up a pumpkin pie compliments of St.Luke's School (SLS) Parents' Association Pie Giveaway. "We had more than 185 pies donated by our parents and several students too," commented PA president and New Canaan resident, Barbara Clayton. "Last year was my first pie day and I was blown away" said SLS Spanish teacher Sandra Comas. "My family was also impressed. They're happy I work in a place where I'm valued." Barb Clayton provided insight into this lovely SLS Thanksgiving tradition: "Parents are so grateful for the faculty and staff and all that they do for our kids. Baking pies is an easy way to show our gratitude and make Thanksgiving a little easier for these hard working people. This morning, as I chatting with new and more "seasoned" parents, I was really touched by the emotional attachment all feel with the SLS community." SLS parent Nisha Ram of Stamford added that SLS pies will also be shared with Inspirica, a service organization in Stamford that helps fight homelessness.
