The NCHS FoodBank Volunteers Club held its Annual Thanksgiving Turkey Drive, Mon Nov 19- Wed Nov 21st in front of the High School. Together the students exceeded their goal raising over $5,100 and filling the Bins with over 80 Turkeys for the FoodBank of Lower Fairfield County to help provide 18,000 Turkeys for families in need this Thanksgiving Holiday. The Turkeys went out that day to local churches, soup kitchens and food pantrys, and a donation check was presented to FoodBank Director, Kate Lombardo that same afternoon.
The FoodBank Volunteers Club would like to thank the New Canaan Community for its generous support and extend a special word of thanks to local businesses and families: Walter Stewarts Market, Kitchens by Deane, Palladino & Sons, Chloe Productions, the New Canaan Chamber of Commerce, New Canaan High School, New Canaan Public Schools Launch Program, the Kristoff family, the Gummeson family, the Kaliff Family, the Reinhardt Family, the Halpert family and the Shannon family.
