Y Sends Two Swimmers to U.S. Olympic Team Trials

The New Canaan YMCA Caimans swim team will have two representatives at the 2012 U.S. Olympic Team Trials June 25-July 2 in Omaha, NE.

KC Moss, who graduated from Wilton High School this month and will be attending Stanford University in the fall, will be competing in the 100m and 200m Breaststroke event. KC has been a member of the US Junior National team for the last two years and was named CT Swimmer of the Year earlier this year.

Costas Hadjipateras, who will be competing in the 200m Butterfly event, recently graduated from Colgate University and is a Caiman Alum and New Canaan High School graduate, where he was also a high school record holder. Costas also has dual citizenship and is ranked in the top ten in Greece in the 200m butterfly.

Caimans Head Coach Jason Paige commented, “I'm very proud of our two swimmers. Just participating at this meet demonstrates a level of commitment and dedication that is rivaled only by a very select few.”

Hadjipateras will compete in the 200m Butterfly on Wednesday, June 27.  Moss will compete in the 100m Breaststroke event on Tuesday, June 26 and the 200m Breaststroke event on Friday, June 29, which is scheduled to be broadcast on NBC at 4:30 PM.

Where DIDN'T you learn to write?? Jane Himmel May 22, 2013 at 01:27 pm "This has CONVINCED MYRead More GROWING CONVICTION that Patch has moved complete..."

I just called Staples. This is really disturbing to me. If I don't get a satisfactory answer, IRead More will let people know and I will also decide whether to continue shopping there. I do not like to give my money to unethical businesses.

This has convinced my growing conviction that Patch has moved completely away from any pretense ofRead More being a news source and is simply an electronic bulletin board. By abandoning their prior procedure of approving posts before they go up, they are letting anything go on and then taking them down if they're reported. By then, it's too late: the poster has gotten their message across during the time it's in the lineup. I only check in with Patch occasionally now and so many people in town won't read it at all anymore. I think we need to be honest with ourselves about what kind of a public forum this venue is. This doesn't reflect well on Staples if they are using subterfuge and violating Terms of Use on Patch either.

New Canaan hockey players are better off playing at Sono, Ridgefield or Stamford Youth Hockey.
