“Annual “Celebrating Wishes” Ball to benefit Make-A-Wish® Connecticut will honor two young boys November 2nd at Greenwich Country Club”

Make-A-Wish® Connecticut’s annual “Celebrating Wishes” Ball will take place on November 2nd at the Greenwich Country Club in Greenwich Connecticut. The mission of Make-A-Wish is to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. The annual “Celebrating Wishes” Ball is an evening of music, dancing, dinner and a live and silent auction, is one of the signature events the Connecticut chapter hosts each year and historically serves as the biggest fundraiser, raising $500,000 annually.

This year, the event will share the stories of two brave young boys who recently were the recipients of a Wish from Make-A-Wish Connecticut; Blake of Westport, whose wish was to swim with penguins in the Galapagos Islands, and Alex of Darien, whose wish was to travel to the rainforests and beaches of Maui. These brave young boys have both bared the hardship of battling a life-threatening medical condition. Both were granted their wishes earlier this year, and since have dedicated themselves to helping make wishes come true for other kids like them. They have even taken their stories of hope, strength and joy and paid the mission forward.

“Both Blake and Alex are the truest representation of our Make-A-Wish family and what it means to share the power of a wish,” said Michael Dominick, Community & Media Relations Manager for Make-A-Wish Connecticut. “They both have shown us all that a wish-come-true experience is not only one that creates memories to last a lifetime, but it changes your life entirely. We’re so honored to celebrate their presence at the Ball this year. They’re an inspiration to all of us.”

About Make-A-Wish® Connecticut

The Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Connecticut grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.  Wish-come-true experiences can do wonders by providing a much-needed break from lengthy hospital stays and medical treatments. They give back to a child what a serious medical condition can take away—the chance to simply enjoy being a kid. Wish kids choose something that will inspire happiness, and spend precious time with their families. The Connecticut chapter has made over 2,300 wishes come true since its inception in 1986.
