New Canaan U9 Girls Red travel soccer team defeats Wilton White 6-1 in strong season opener!

The New Canaan U9 girls red travel soccer team hosted Wilton White on Sunday, September 8th, to start the season.  Saige Hartslief led off with the team’s first goal seven minutes into the first half.  New Canaan finished the first half with a 3-0 lead following goals by Evelyn Slatoff and Grace Crookenden.   

New Canaan continued its strong team performance during the second half with goals from Caroline Underwood, Katherine Byrne, and a second one from Evelyn Slatoff. Goalie’s Ava Gizzie and Nola Kammerer provided several saves and allowed only 1 goal late in the second half of New Canaan’s 6-1 victory.
