Police Chief Krolikowski is Featured Speaker at Kiwanis Membership Luncheon

 New Canaan, CT, December 11, 2013   – The Kiwanis Club of New Canaan (http://www.newcanaankiwanis.org) welcomed police chief Leon Krolikowski as speaker at the Club’s annual membership drive luncheon on Wednesday, December 11, at the Roger Sherman Inn.

Chief Krolikowski updated everyone on new police department initiatives, ongoing investigations, and plans for the future. He also provided trivia Q&A for the group such as:

 

Q: How many police officers does New Canaan currently have on staff? A: 45

Q: How many traffic accidents occur in town each year? A: 500+

Q: How many burglaries happen in town annually? A: 15-20 (down from hundreds 20-30 years ago)

 

He also discussed his plans to re-open the department’s K-9 program. A police department’s K-9 program is an invaluable tool for deterring crime, finding missing persons, apprehending criminals, and curbing thefts, burglaries and vandalism.
