Super Storm Sandy's anniversary reminds us that we need to stay prepared for emergencies.. Check out a new program at the NC Library 'The Business of Living™'which will offer town residents info for your HOME, FAMILY and FINANCES.
New Canaan, CT In response to a rapidly changing world, including super storms and a ‘new normal’ digital world, The Business of Living ™ is coming to the New Canaan Library on Wednesday, November 13th at 10am in the Adrian Lamb room. The event comes on the heels of the anniversary of Hurricane Sandy, and will offer homeowners valuable information, resources and advice on topics such as household emergency preparedness, internet privacy & safety, energy efficiency ideas and also family leadership skills. RR Builders, see below, is the sponsor of this program, that may continue on a monthly basis, as a series, through 2014.
“There is an increased need to prepare your household for such things as: power outages, requiring back up electricity, and to have an expert explain what "dirty and clean" electricity means - how this impacts your home, including personal computers, their hard drives and the potential disasters from losing personal information. Of course, we all wish to keep up with knowing how to save energy and money," said Devon Fleming. "We live in a 'new normal' world that requires more and more awareness and preparedness- these are KEY to managing your home and family, which leads to your happiness and well-being," said Devon Fleming, author and lifestyle expert. She presented the idea to the program director at the library, Susan LaPerla. The event will be video taped and streamed live and available to be viewed online and on-air in the future.
