VOTE REPUBLICAN CAUCUS ENDORSED CANDIDATES

Well the warm October month is gone; and the crisp November mornings bring frost, clinging to the grass.

And next Tuesday, November 5th is Election Day. In my view, every Election Day is important; it’s imperative to exercise your civic duty and VOTE.

Local elections impact the quality of life we enjoy here in New Canaan; Republicans are again fielding "a strong ticket up and down the ballot," all of whom will continue the tradition of “Excellence in government.”

First Selectman Robert E. Mallozzi III and Selectman Nick Williams are without opponents this year and seeking second terms.

What has garnered attention this year is the race for the six Town Council seats.

The Republican team running for the Town Council is a very balanced group of long time town residents and leaders.  All of whom who possess the right temperament and character to be elected- leaders on the Town Council.

Penny Young is very passionate about public service and no one could ever question her commitment to New Canaan, especially our long-term senior residents. Our town is a very desirable location for senior residents because of committed elected officials like Penny Young.

John Engel was selected to fill the open Town Council seat last January. He has brought a wealth of knowledge to this role as a New Canaan native, who benefitted from our outstanding schools and served his country in the Army during the Persian Gulf War. He has been a successful business owner and chosen to raise his young family here as well.

Kevin Moynihan a thirty year resident, and now retired, will bring to the Town Council his legal talents and expertise as a retired Associate General Counsel for a major investment bank. Kevin has been active in town with the Exchange Club, Staying Put in New Canaan and currently serves as Vice Chairman of the RTC.

Bill Walbert always brings his pleasant personality and sound financial mind to each endeavor. He runs a local investment firm and can also be found producing shows at the Gridiron Club and cheering for the H.S. football Rams! At the New Canaan Community Foundation, he supported many local organizations and as a member of the Town Council, we will benefit from his financial and people skills, experience and leadership.

On behalf of the New Canaan RTC, I would like to thank Dr. Mark DeWaele for his many years of service and stewardship as Chairman of the Town Council and to Robert Hamill for his sensible and prudent advice during his term on the Town Council as well.

Finally, we will have a new Town Treasurers, which has been held for the last 48 years by the highly esteemed "Town Father," V. Donald Hersam, Jr.  Thank-you Mr. Hersam again for your dedicated years of service.

Andrew Brooks is the unopposed Republican candidate for Town Treasurer. He is a young, energetic, financial professional who also grew up here and is poised to become Treasurer.

All of these able candidates were victorious in our July caucus and have earned our support.

Please vote for these endorsed Republican candidates.
