YWL Holiday Market strengthens ties with New Canaan businesses

The Young Women’s League Holiday Market draws vendors from the region to Waveny House every year for a two-day shopping and social event that raises money for charity.  It is one of the YWL’s biggest annual fundraisers and will support this year’s giving theme, Help A Child… Change The Community

There are a number of exciting changes this year, which will feature favorite vendors from previous years and a lot of new shops to bring fresh looks to the event.  This year the YWL is proud to announce that for the first time, New Canaan businesses will be participating in Holiday Market.  The first to sign on was M Milestones, a long-standing New Canaan staple.

Dan Mulhurn, owner of M Milestones, said, “We chose to participate because we see the value in the exposure our store will receive from all of the new members and those from outside the community.”  Since they have a store in town, Dan said, “There’s no need to bring tons of stuff to the holiday market.  We will focus on key items for the holidays.  This is an opportunity to show that ‘it’ item to the shoppers.”  Other New Canaan merchants participating this year include Goldenberry, New Canaan Florist Garden & Gifts, gingerbitz, and Oxygen Fitness.

Also new, “A Taste of New Canaan” will feature more of New Canaan’s best.  On Wednesday night’s Preview Party, Boulevard 18 and Fishtales will provide appetizers, with New Canaan Wine Merchants hosting a wine tasting during which shoppers will hear live music by a children’s choir and local musicians.  All of this is included in the Preview night ticket.  On Thursday’s Market Day, Baldanza and Tony’s Deli will have breakfast and lunch available.

YWL President, Nicole Cribbins, states, “The YWL is very proud to be a part of the New Canaan community.  Our hope is that by increasing focus on New Canaan merchants and restaurants, we can increase foot traffic into town in the short and the long term.  We continue to be thankful for the businesses that sponsor and support us, because without them, we ultimately wouldn’t be able to give back to the community in the ways that we do.”
