Farming Fever, Puppet Parades, Manga and Climbing the Walls: Family Fun for the Weekend!

This weekend, catch a little music at the zoo, head to SoNo for the Puppet Parade, send your teen to Manga heaven or have your family work off a bit of steam by climbing the wall.

It's all happening at the zoo. And it's well worth a drive to Bridgeport to check it out. The Beardsley Zoo has everything from Pygmy Marmosets, Snowy Owls, and a Brazillian Ocelot kitten to nine new piglets. And that's just the beginning. While you're there, be sure to make time for Chris Rowland's hugely popular interactive show, Farming Fever, in which he brings animals to life using song, dance, props and puppets. It's a get up and dance show and daily performances are at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. through August 7.

If your teen is into Manga (you know what we mean - the rest of us haven't a clue), have them meet fellow enthusiasts at the New Canaan Library for the Manga Club, where they will discuss Manga and take part in an activity. Open to 7-12 graders at 2:30 on August 6

It's August -- are the kids (or you) climbing the walls yet? Then make an activity of it at in Fairfield. With state-of-the-art equipment, they cater to beginners as well as seasoned climbers and have taught "the ropes" to kids as young as two years-old. Click on the link and check out the video!

Stroll through charming SoNo this weekend and take in the arts and entertainment. It's the SoNo Arts Celebration and will feature exhibits by artists and artisans, as well as all sorts of performing arts. Don't miss the spectacular on Sunday at 1:30. 6 - 11 p.m. on August 5, 10 a.m. - 11:00 p.m. on August 6 and 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. on August 7.
