In Praise of Barns

A gallery of some of New Canaan's most bucolic buildings.

Just when it feels like suburban creep has taken over the town, a beautiful old barn pops up on the landscape, and you're transported back to New Canaan's New England roots.

The animals — well, most of them — and crops may be gone, but the buildings are a proud reminder of our agricultural past.

Though the beautiful barns in this album look like they are from Vermont or New Hampshire, they can all be found right here in New Canaan.

This is such a great column - it's such a pleasure to take a break and click through these beautiful photos every week.
