Right off the bat, I have not yet asked town officials about this sign which I just noticed at the entrance to Spencer’s Run, the dog park at Waveny.
This has to be some sort of liability thing. I’m not sure why it’s here, though. I mean, there’s no “Back to the Future” clock tower in the middle of the dog run.
Then there’s the sign itself, which says:
“This park/playing field is equipped with a lightning detection and warning system … This system is not absolute protection. Please use common sense and seek shelter immediately.”
Anyone have insight on this?
