New Canaan Chamber Announces 32nd Annual Halloween Parade

The New Canaan Chamber of Commerce announced this week it would host the 32nd annual Halloween Parade on October 27, 2013. The event begins at noon with a familial gathering in the Park Street parking lot where residents receive goodie bags (limited supplies) and then kick off a 1 p.m. parade led by Old Faithful.

The Park Street Party includes fun for all. The School of Rock will serenade parade-goers with Halloween tunes such as the Monster Mash, Werewolves of London, and possibly even the hit classic Ghostbusters while Toddlertime Nursery School will be creating balloon animals. Start planning your costume now so you can enter into the “Best Dressed Family” sponsored by Venture Photography who has donated a Family sitting Package to the first place winner. Arts for Healing, Kempo Martial Arts, Camp Playland, Cycles on Call, New Canaan Music, Forever Sweet Bakery and the Candy Scoop will have tables set up to meet and great all ghosts and goblins! Village Critter Outfitter will ask attendees to help select the winners for this year’s Cutest, Scariest and Best Costumed Pet.

For anyone that missed the Pop Up Park this summer this is your chance to enjoy it again as it will be set up with a new surprise feature that is sure to please all!

Other sponsors include Avgerinos Construction, Bankwell in New Canaan, Dunkin Donuts, New Canaan Advertiser and NuRenu Brand Marketing. Goodie Bags items generously donated by Baskin-Robbins, Citibank, Dr. Mark DeWaele DMD, Dr. Anna Simonis of New Canaan Pediatric Dentistry, First County Bank, Le Pain Quotidien, TD Bank, ToddlerTime Nursery School, The Toy Chest, Salon Kiklo and Walter Stewarts Market. New Canaan resident and CEO of Pez Candy, Joe Vittoria has once again for the eighth year donated Pez Candy dispensers for the goodie bags.
