New Canaan Chamber Announces 32nd Annual Halloween Parade

The New Canaan Chamber of Commerce announced this week it would host the 32nd annual Halloween Parade on October 27, 2013. The event begins at noon with a familial gathering in the Park Street parking lot where residents receive goodie bags (limited supplies) and then kick off a 1 p.m. parade led by Old Faithful. 

The Park Street Party includes fun for all. The School of Rock will serenade parade-goers with Halloween tunes such as the Monster Mash, Werewolves of London, and possibly even the hit classic Ghostbusters while Toddlertime Nursery School will be creating balloon animals. Start planning your costume now so you can enter into the “Best Dressed Family” sponsored by Venture Photography who has donated a Family sitting Package to the first place winner. Arts for Healing, Kempo Martial Arts, Camp Playland, Cycles on Call, New Canaan Music, Forever Sweet Bakery and the Candy Scoop will have tables set up to meet and great all ghosts and goblins! Village Critter Outfitter will ask attendees to help select the winners for this year’s Cutest, Scariest and Best Costumed Pet.

For anyone that missed the Pop Up Park this summer this is your chance to enjoy it again as it will be set up with a new surprise feature that is sure to please all!

Marchers should gather in the Park Street parking lot starting at noon. The parade kicks off at 1 p.m. and will continue to the corner of Park and Elm Streets, and then proceed down Elm to Main Street, and then loop back up Elm Street, which will be closed to vehicular traffic.
