New Canaan 'Homes for the Holidays' Tour Set to Return

The 2013 Holiday House Tour dates were announced this week, and tickets are already on sale.

Hosted by the Newcomers Club of New Canaan, the biennial "Homes for the Holidays" house tour will arrive Friday, December 6, and Saturday, December 7, and feature five distinctive homes festively decorated by local professional designers who have volunteered their time and talents to decorate each home in holiday themes.

Various local community organizations benefit from the proceeds generated by the event. GetAbout, Waveny Care Network and the New Canaan Outback Teen Center have all previously received funding from the event. In 2001, the Outback Teen Center was able to completely upgrade the technology available there, including the purchase of flat screen televisions, Apple TV boxes, a wireless microphone, karaoke machine iPads and increased WiFi access.

"The new technology has allowed the Outback to reach a bigger audience and engage students in the way they like to socialize, relax and interact with each other," said Outback President, Board of Directors Sangeeta Appel. "We are very thankful to the Newcomers Club for their support and for helping the Outback become current with today’s technology."

This year Décor by Ainsley Hayes, Amanda Zorumski Design, Elena Phillips Interiors, Company K and Stirling Mills will decorate these unique New Canaan homes for the holidays, with the help of a team of Newcomers’ volunteers.
