New Canaan Recreation to Provide Summer Fun

Looking for a few good activities this summer? There's no need to leave town thanks to the New Canaan Recreation Department.

This summer, the has one-stop activities for all ages. Whether you are fourteen-years-old or forty-years-old, you are sure to find fun filled days with the NCRD. For registration, information or forms visit www.newcanaan.info or stop by the .

Cool Clubs for Kids:

The will be in full swing this summer. Girls and boys entering grades 2-5 in the fall are invited to join. Grades 2-3 can test their pitching skills at the pitching machine, while grades 4-5 step up to the plate for live pitching practice. Weeknight games will take place in. Registration will remain open until June 15.

for Kids will be available to children ages 8-13. Five races will take place between May 31-August 23, at Waveny Park. Awards will be handed out at the end of each race.

will be provided by professionals from the . Boys and girls ages 4-15 are invited to learn how to play a good game of tennis filled with lots of “love.” The lessons will take place at Mead Park. There will be five sessions of two week classes. Ages groups/instruction levels will be separated appropriately.

will be provided for ages 4+ through Swim America. Participants must be 2011 pool pass holders. The series of one week sessions can be signed up for via Swim America or online at the recreation center website.

Other events that kids can sign up for include: the , dive team, water polo team, Waveny Day Camp, Camp Pee Wee, Tiny Tot Camp and Fall Soccer, .
