New Canaan music teacher Kathleen Dorfman appeared on America's Got Talent playing violin in the 3 Penny Chorus & Orchestra. The group made it all the way to the semi-final round. In police news, a woman was charged with stealing more than $1,300 worth of sunglasses and eyeglasses and a juvenile allegedly fessed up to police about drugs and paraphernalia he had in his car during a speeding stop. Additionally, in Animal Control news, PIN codes are in full effect at New Canaan's Spencer's Run, so be sure to register your pet so you can continue to use the dog park.
State test scores were released this week and Superintendent Dr. Mary Kolek was satisfied with the results overall, though she said they'd be analyzing the data in coming weeks to find areas where improvement was necessary.
