Old Faithful Rides Through New Canaan

Here's something I spotted today and wanted to know more about, so I made some calls. If you're a long time resident of New Canaan, you've probably already seen, and may know about, Jon Old and the Old Faithful Antique Fire Engine Association, but if you're in the dark like I was, here's the scoop:

The association is a not-for-profit - and not connected to the fire department in any way - run by Jon Old and conducts rides on one of two antique engines - all for free!

"Today, we were doing a birthday party, but you'll see us at the May Fair tomorrow," Old said. "We do lots of events for other charitable organizations. Today's ride was a family that had won an auction at a school."

The endeavor has been servicing New Canaan for more than 50 years. Old said the company encourages donations as it's completely funded by members of the surrounding community.
