Susan Farewell on Family Travel, Other Speakers in Area

Susan Farewell speaks Thursday in New Canaan on how multiple generations in the same family can take the same trip together and enjoy it.

Farwell (who wrote "How to Make a Living as a Travel Writer" in the 1990s) is the first of a number of authors and others giving talks in and around New Canaan in upcoming weeks.

Others appearing in New Canaan include Joe Scarborough on Nov. 15; National Review Editor Rich Lowry (to talk about his book on Abraham Lincoln) on Nov. 21; Tony Lake, a foreign policy advisor in the Clinton and Obama campaigns and now director of UNICEF on Nov. 24; and children's book author and illustrator William Wegman on Dec. 15.

In Stamford, a panel of authors speaks about how they first got published on Nov. 16; columnist Jerry Zezima talks on Nov. 25; and best-selling author Wally Lamb comes to town on Dec. 5.

In Greenwich, Thomas Cahill will speak on Nov. 12.

Anthony Lake, sixth Executive Director of the United Nations Children’s Fund since May 2010, contributes to the position more than 45 years of public service.
