What's the most popular gelato?
At Gelatissimo Artisan Gelato, 26 Forest St., downtown, there are three, according to Ashley Mulhern, a server at the store.

Some flavors become popular depending on the season, said Gelatissimo owner Nuccia Mazzonetto.
Fruit flavors are popular in the summer, she said, and pumpkin is in demand in the fall. Near Christmastime, peppermint candy cane sells well, she said.
Mazzonetto, who opened her shop in 2005, said that unlike ice cream, gelato is made from milk, not cream, so it has less fat in it. It also has less air because it isn't whipped, and is supposed to be kept at a different (somewhat higher) temperature than ice cream.
And her gelato is always fresh, she added. "We make it every day."
