Ms. Constance: while you are new to Patch, you must now be aware of the large number of self-serving, off-subject, inane comments made by one Glen K. Dunbar. Why to you keep publishing them? I know of at least 15 people who no longer check in with Patch because of the endless presence of this person. I'm about ready to give up myself. As you well know, there are other sources of information in this town -- and none of them put up with this person.

p.s. I think all of your readership deserves to see your response to the question i raise above.

Feo: New Canaan Patch serves as a medium for discussion and should be a community resource for all things New Canaan. Everyone deserves to share their opinions as long as those opinions do not threaten the well being of other readers. There are plenty of commenters who veer off topic, but that's okay. Comments do not alter the content of the article. And, please, call me Emily.

EMILY: guess its your call -- if you want to keep 1 jerk who does threaten the sanity and interest level of many other subscribers, then you lose!

Citizens of New Canaan. Editor Emily Constance has been extremely accommodating to some people who post messages which are repetitive and wearing to some. We as citizens can help. If we don't like the message, push the "Flag as inappropriate" button and if there is enough response, that message will disappear. This is the only way that Editor Constance will be able to gauge the strength of opposition to the message. This also means nobody has to go away mad. We want to keep Patch and Emily around as long as possible, so let's work together and maintain our own discipline without personal attacks.

I agree with Feo, GD clogs up the comments with self-serving crap that no one cares about. If you are going to vet comments, his should be deleted instead of posted.
