6th Annual Holiday Stroll

The closest thing in our modern age to the fictional town in the holiday movie, "It's A Wonderful Life" is the annual New Canaan Holiday Stroll, which will be held this year on Friday night, December 3rd from 6 - 9 PM and Saturday December 4th from 10 - 5PM.

On Friday evening, residents of all ages and backgrounds gather on New Canaan's Elm Street, which is closed to traffic, to enjoy the festivities: singing Christmas carols and enjoying performances by the Norwalk Symphony Ensemble Orchestra as well as entertainment from a cast of holiday characters. Everyone warms up with delicious seasonal beverages provided by local merchants, as guests shop.

The Friday evening event culminates with the arrival of Santa on Ol' Faithful, as the holiday lights around the lampposts brighten the December sky.  The Holiday Stroll continues all day Saturday

Many New Canaan residents who have traveled far and wide, have come to settle in this peaceful, idyllic town where "everyone knows your name," to enjoy George Bailey's dream as it is portrayed in "It's A Wonderful Life."  No one can deny that the lifestyle represented in this movie is remarkably similar to life in New Canaan.  It's a town with oh-so-many treasures to enjoy.  The Holiday Stroll continues to be one of the reasons why living in New Canaan is A Wonderful Life.
