A screening of the documentary "Vincent Scully: An Art Historian Among Architects"

Presented by the New Canaan Preservation Alliance Inc, this documentary celebrates the 50 year career of the legendary Art and Architectural History professor at Yale University, to honor the year of  his 90th birthday. Directed by Edgar Howard, President of the Checkerboard Film Foundation, and by former New Canaanite Tom Piper, who also was the editor, the film brings together an illustrious array  of Scully's former students.

They include the most important figures in current city planning, Elizabeth Plater-Zyberk and Andreas Duany, leaders in the New Urbanism movement; architectural design with Robert A.M. Stern, preservationist, author and inventor of the Neo-Shingle Style of architecture;  Pulitzer-prize winning architectural critic at the New York Times and now at the New Yorker magazine, Paul Goldberger; and historian, author and narrator,  David McCullough, who says he learned never to write about a place without going there first.

The film presentation will begin at 5:00 PM at the Country Club of New Canaan and is followed by a reception.
