Patricia
Lambert
is a colorful person who conveys her fine art world in black and white. Her photography
transports the viewer to a timeless plane of depth and translation. Through
eliminating color, Lambert creates representative hues and values in grayscale
that evoke personal interpretations from the individual viewer. Light
makes a design visible and produces subtle changes that transcend verbal
interpretation. She describes her medium as light no matter what the technique
of production happens to be.

“Concentrating on the use of light and dark,
which I use as a design element, allows me to keep the design and composition
simple no matter how complicated it may appear at first glance. Then to further
clarify the two-dimensional space, or format, I incorporate more formal aspects
of design. Although the work is realistic I break up space abstractly before
thinking of the actual impact of the subject matter. For me, this cuts through
the visual, emotional and psychological chaos that fills our world and
clarifies the image.”

Painters influencing her work include Georges
de la Tour, Rembrandt and Vermeer. Photographers whose work she deeply admires
include Edward Weston, Ruth Bernhard, Berenice Abbott and Margaret
Bourke-White.

Where DIDN'T you learn to write?? Jane Himmel May 22, 2013 at 01:27 pm "This has CONVINCED MYRead More GROWING CONVICTION that Patch has moved complete..."

I just called Staples. This is really disturbing to me. If I don't get a satisfactory answer, IRead More will let people know and I will also decide whether to continue shopping there. I do not like to give my money to unethical businesses.

This has convinced my growing conviction that Patch has moved completely away from any pretense ofRead More being a news source and is simply an electronic bulletin board. By abandoning their prior procedure of approving posts before they go up, they are letting anything go on and then taking them down if they're reported. By then, it's too late: the poster has gotten their message across during the time it's in the lineup. I only check in with Patch occasionally now and so many people in town won't read it at all anymore. I think we need to be honest with ourselves about what kind of a public forum this venue is. This doesn't reflect well on Staples if they are using subterfuge and violating Terms of Use on Patch either.

New Canaan hockey players are better off playing at Sono, Ridgefield or Stamford Youth Hockey.
