Have a 'B'Earthday Cake' and Eat It, Too

It's a "B'Earthday" celebration at New Canaan Nature Center (NCNC) in honor of the center's 50th anniversary  Saturday, April 24.

From 12-3pm, kids and adults will engage in interactive activities to learn about the planet's four elements of earth, fire, water and air - and how they are important to our daily lives, and how we can conserve or use these resources to protect the environment.

A special performance of the Turtle Island Medicine Show by the acclaimed Art-of-the-Sea Theater is included in the day's line-up. A contemporary fable inspired by a Lenape Indian story, the show combines visual storytelling, puppetry, masks and live music to convey an important message about the origins of fossil fuels and the effects of human-caused climate change.

To draw the day to a close, a special B'Earthday cake cutting will take place, with a piece for all.
