St. Luke's School Upper School Play: 'Noises Off'

About the play

Join us for an evening of theatrical mayhem as St. Luke's Seldin Performing Arts Center performs, Noises Off, a madcap 'play within a play' featuring slamming doors and dropping drawers.

In theatrical stage directions, the term "noises off" specifies sounds that are meant to originate offstage. The play, written by English playwright Michael Frayn, premiered at the Lyric Theatre, Hammersmith, London in 1982, directed by Michael Blakemore.  Noises Off was mounted several times in London throughout the 1980’s and quickly become a staple of both professional theatre companies and community theaters on both sides of the Atlantic, lauded as one of the best slapstick comedies ever written.
