Grant Available for Struggling Veterans in New Canaan

U.S. military veterans in need in New Canaan, Darien, Norwalk and Stamford are encouraged to apply for a housing grant from Peter Wojtecki Veteran Housing Foundation.

 

The Peter Wojtecki Veteran Housing Foundation is taking applications from struggling US military veterans living the towns of New Canaan, Darien, Norwalk and Stamford to receive a housing grant starting January 2013.

The grant will help  pay the rent, mortgage or other significant expense for the recipient for up to a full year.  All needy veterans in the area should apply for the grant before October 31.  It is very generous and it could make an enormous difference in keeping a veteran and his family in their home.

The purpose of the award is to help a veteran who temporarily has an unexpected occurrence and is down on his luck. With a little help, it will lift the veteran out of debt and open a door to the future. 

To be eligible, the veteran must:

  • Have encountered a hardship primarily due to no fault of their own
  • Be drug and alcohol free
  • Reside in either Darien, New Canaan, Norwalk or Stamford
  • Be a veteran or current member of the US armed forces or the National Guard

The application deadline is October 31st. The grant will be awarded in December.
