[UPDATE] Power Restored to New Canaan

Connecticut Light and Power has restored power to all New Canaan customers.

 

[UPDATE] 10 p.m. CL&P has restored power to all New Canaan customers. 

[UPDATE] 8:27 p.m. The number of CL&P customers in New Canaan without power is down to 796.

[UPDATE] 6:36 p.m. According to Mike Handler, CL&P is on site at the South Avenue substation and has predicted that power will be restored between 9:30 and 10 p.m. tonight.

, which still has 1,177 residences without power, 1,917 residences in New Canaan have reported outages. 

According to New Canaan Office of Emergency Management Director Mike Handler, there is a line down at the South Avenue substation and CL&P has been alerted. There is no estimate yet as to when power will be restored. 

Handler encourages residents to report outages to CL&P at 1-800-286-2000.
