Dunkin' Donuts Looking to Raise Prices

Costs for coffee have skyrocketed

It seems there is a Dunkin’ Donuts on almost every block in Connecticut, and for those of us who are addicted to the java jolt, especially first thing in the morning, we may be paying more for coffee in the near future.

Dunkin’ Donuts CEO says that prices will have to increase to deal with higher coffee costs. There was a drought in Brazil, WFSB 3 reports. We have no idea how much prices will go up, and it’s possible the prices may increase on food items as opposed to coffee but that is all still unclear now.

Will there ever come a time where coffee is too expensive for you to buy?

I'm rather surprised drought was listed as the key reason, when in fact coffee rust is also damaging crops (http://www.bizjournals.com/kansascity/news/2014/05/23/kansas-city-roasters-fight-coffee-rust.html?page=all) I rarely buy coffee but make it at home. Much cheaper, and DD is far cheaper than Starbucks. $2 a cup is my limit.

Gosh, last I knew DD serves Arabica 100% Columbian coffee. Any price increases have more to do with corp. greed than with the drought in Brazil. Save some $$ and make your coffee at home....less than 50 cents a cup and only takes a few minutes of time which you save by not having to sit in the DD drive thru lane.

This is where D.D. will have to close half of their stores because people won't buy it.

Donut Delight is way better than Dunkin - so DD can raise all they want

Dunkin is fast and convenient; that's what people want nowadays.
