New Canaan Gift Certificates Arrive Just in Time for Black Friday

Just in time for all the holiday shopping that needs to get done, the New Canaan Gift Certificate arrives in town to provide the perfect option for present that supports local merchants.

Mentioned first by First Selectman Robert Mallozzi III when he asked New Canaan residents to support local businesses this holiday season, the New Canaan Gift Certificate is finally ready to ht the streets.

Beginning Friday, Nov. 29, certificates can be purchased in $10 increments from:
  • The New Canaan Chamber of Commerce office at 91 Elm Street (above Movie Theater)
  • TD Bank at 272 Elm Street
  • Walter Stewart’s Market at 229 Elm Street.

"We all know that supporting local merchants is a great way to help maintain the character of our unique village," said Tucker Murphy, executive director of the Chamber. "The more dollars spent locally means our merchants can continue to grow their businesses and provide the good and services our residents need but also allow the local business community to support so many of our favorite projects and events. Town wide gift certificates in neighboring towns have kept hundreds of thousands of gift-giving dollars in the local community and now the time has come for New Canaan to do the same."

The certificates will be redeemable at participating New Canaan Chamber members’ stores and businesses. There are no fees associated with the program, Murphy said. Each gift certificate can be used only in one store. Perfect for all your gift giving needs!
