SoNo Fall Restaurant Week Runs Sept. 25-30

A dozen South Norwalk restaurants are participating in this year's fall "SoNo Restaurant Week," with less expensive fixed-price menus offered at lunch and dinner.

Scott Beck, co-owner of Match restaurant, a 12-year-old, 95-seat restaurant on Washington Street, organized this fall's restaurant week, an event occurring twice a year for the past three years.

"It's been great, every year that I've done it," Beck said, speaking about his own restaurant's participation. "People love it. It's a great value for everybody."

Each restaurant week has brought in more people than normal to the eateries, he said, adding that the larger crowds haven't been noticably larger or smaller from event. "It's been really consistent," he said. "It's always busy."

The week-long event obviously benefits diners, he said, but it gives restaurants a chance to get new customers and to reward regulars.

Although information about the upcoming restaurant week hadn't been officially publicized yet, the website OmNomCT had the event's official poster on its website since about Sept. 8, and other websites have picked up on the story.
