Cheese, smoked/cured meats, olives, fancy nuts ..... A store that sells cocktail party food has a pretty good chance of making it in New Canaan!

That is a pretty hefty rent to cover each month.

I'm surprised that there isn't a place in town that sells quality cigars. Opening a tobacco shop is a bit of a risk in this day and age of massive tobacco tax hikes that come with little advance notice. However, a high-end tobacconist who focuses primarily on cigars might do well, as the state of CT taxes cigars at a nominal rate.

Went to David's Tea in NYC on 71st and 3rd if I remember correctly. Over 100 varieties, unique. Apparently just started retail locations within the last 9 mo. Expanding. Maybe contact them? www.davidstea.com

I wish we had a moderately priced woman's store with clothing and jewelry for all ages and sizes.
