Where to Get Free Coffee for National Coffee Day 2012

Get your caffeine on and celebrate with a free cup of coffee.

If the first words out of your mouth every morning are, “I’ll have a large coffee”—or if you can’t even speak until after you’ve had your java fix—there's a national holiday created especially for you.

America will put staunch tea drinkers to shame on National Coffee Day on Sept. 29, when coffee fiends can rejoice and celebrate their beloved coffee bean with free brew from national chains.

Coffee was first brought to America in the mid-1600s in a shipment en route to “New Amsterdam,” now known as New York, according to the National Coffee Association. We have that shipment and the Boston Tea Party to thank for turning the nation into coffee drinkers.

Many local cafes and businesses are participating in the national celebration.

National coffee chains will also be giving out free cups of coffee during the week of Sept. 23.

McDonald's restaurants along the East Coast will be giving away free 12-ounce coffees every day now through Sept. 29. No purchase is necessary, and coffee will be available in the drive-thru or in the restaurants.

It’s CofFREE Day at 7-Eleven, which means a free large coffee for anyone who stops by a participating 7-Eleven store between 6 a.m. and 10 a.m. on Sept. 28.

And if you happen upon a Krispy Kreme shop, they're offering one free 12-ounce House Blend Coffee per customer at participating stores on Sept. 29, with no purchase necessary. The company is also holding a contest in conjunction with their 75th anniversary. Participants will have a chance to win two free bags of coffee per month for the next year.

Dunkin Donuts is offering steep discounts on some of their coffee items, but make sure you print out the coupon you need to bring along, found right here.

Where DIDN'T you learn to write?? Jane Himmel May 22, 2013 at 01:27 pm "This has CONVINCED MYRead More GROWING CONVICTION that Patch has moved complete..."

I just called Staples. This is really disturbing to me. If I don't get a satisfactory answer, IRead More will let people know and I will also decide whether to continue shopping there. I do not like to give my money to unethical businesses.

This has convinced my growing conviction that Patch has moved completely away from any pretense ofRead More being a news source and is simply an electronic bulletin board. By abandoning their prior procedure of approving posts before they go up, they are letting anything go on and then taking them down if they're reported. By then, it's too late: the poster has gotten their message across during the time it's in the lineup. I only check in with Patch occasionally now and so many people in town won't read it at all anymore. I think we need to be honest with ourselves about what kind of a public forum this venue is. This doesn't reflect well on Staples if they are using subterfuge and violating Terms of Use on Patch either.

Tom, the tree warden doesn't just "put in trees and take them down" just like that. ThereRead More is a reason behind every tree that has come down or gone up. Whats with this town and trees anyway? It seems like a huge source of controversy...they are TREES.

if they had done it at night at least it wouldn't have been smudged. BUT, i happen to think itsRead More nice, and especially with the flags hanging. we forget we are a small new england town, and small things like the red white and blue stripes remind me that we still are! :)
