Poll: Warning Tags for Unfriendly Dogs in New Canaan Parks?

Animal Reports from around New Canaan

Dogs in New Canaan who might not be so friendly may soon have to wear some kind of warning identifier to let others know about the animal's demeanor, but authorities are first looking for feedback from the public on the idea.

According to Animal Control Officer Mary Ann Kleinschmitt, the department has been toying with the idea of asking owners of dogs that are less-than-friendly to strangers to tie a yellow ribbon or some similar yellow identifier to the leash or animal as a universal warning.

Kleinschmitt is asking for feedback from the public on the idea. Residents can call her office line at 203.594.3510 to give their opinion.
