Doors of New Canaan: Halloween 2011
With two weeks to go, doors and lawns are displaying the Halloween Spirit.
It's beginning to look a lot like Halloween all over New Canaan.
To many, it may seem that over the years, Halloween has gone from a day to a season.
Groceries, candy and variety stores begin their displays just after Labor Day. After-school activities begin holding Halloween parties on Oct. 1 followed by parades at school and endless opportunities throughout the month for kids, and adults to eat candy corn and orange cupcakes and don costumes.

While many New Canaan houses are adorned with the traditional fall fare of mums and pumpkins, more and more ghosts, goblins, witches and spiders are taking over doorways and lawns around town.
From doorway decorations to elaborate lawn displays, a drive around town now leaves little doubt about the holiday that's just around the corner.
