Five Thing to Know About New Canaan: September 13

Town Council Lumberyard Meeting tonight, plus more.

  1. The Town Council will meet at 7 p.m. tonight in the auditorium of Town Hall. On the agenda is Transit Oriented Development Application for the lumberyard parking lot.
  2. Award-winning puppeteer Liz Joyce will perform the ancient Greek folktale of King Midas at on Sunday, September 18 from 2 to 4 p.m. " Joyce has toured the East Coast with her one-woman puppet company for children and is Founder and Artistic Director for Goat on a Boat Puppet Theatre."

Join them at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, September 21 at Waveny Care Center with featured speaker "Barbara Schmidt, MS, RD, CD-N, of New Canaan, nutrition lifestyle specialist at Norwalk Hospital, and instructor for Transformations, a very successful weight loss program."
  4. There is still time to register for the 2nd annual Spokes Ride. The event - founded by former New Canaan resident - benefits the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Beginning at 8 a.m. Sunday, October 2, you have a choice of riding the 12, 20 or 50 mile bike route. Ride for yourself, someone you know or for one of the by this disease.
